As any Potterhead would tell you, June 30th is an emotional day. It marks the tragic day when Professor Albus Dumbledore was killed by Severus Snape during the Battle of the Astronomy Tower – a heartbreaking day for all. Today, instead of shedding tears, let’s rejoice at some of the wonderful things we’ve learnt from this incredible wizard.
Happy birthday to our favourite free elf, Dobby. This big-hearted and big-eared house-elf is one of the most lovable characters in the Harry Potter novels – his deep care for Harry Potter made him do everything he could to protect him and his friends, he showed us friendship and devotion like no one has shown it before. Plus, his heroic acts taught us that heroes come in all different shapes and sizes. For these reasons, and for his love of socks, we shall never forget this wonderful elf!
This month, Draco Malfoy celebrated his 40th birthday, so happy birthday Draco! This Slytherin student wasn’t your typical villain and even though Hermione called him a “foul, loathsome, evil, little cockroach” he showed us traces of kindness and love at the end.
